The kanban part information listed below is imported from your MRP/ERP software to Kanban Manager

Item information, and field lengths are as listed below. Item information is exported from MRP/ERP to a table and Kanban Manager imports that information from the table. For additional information contact information@btmlinecpi.com

Item Maintenance

The screen shown here is the item master information about a kanban part that was entered into Kanban Manager for Calculation. The top portion of the screen is part information from the item master file in MRP/ERP. The New Kanban Qty. and % change are as calculated by the program. The bottom portion of the screen is either part history or forecast/orders, from which kanban quantities are calculated. You select history or future/forecast by using the start date range to gathering 8, 12 or 16 weeks of information.

Item Maintenance
Inventory/Floor location is used to tell the supplier where to deliver material to. Minimum Order Qty./EOQ is used when there is significant set up time required to manufacture parts---be cautious when using EOQ, as excessive re-order quantities are manufactured, if carrying cost % is not accurately stated (I suggest >30% is realistic) When using Kanban Manager, as a stand alone program, the item maintenance information is manually input, and then calculated. A report can be generated after calculations that calculates full kanban levels and inventory $ at these levels.

Import Item Information

The information listed to the right is the part information required to calculate kanban levels, and print cards with enough information to be managed by suppliers and at the point of use. There are many fields of information, once linked, that give you options for global and specific calculations of kanbans to take place. Note: Kanban Manager will allow duplicate part #'s, this allows you to have the same item at more than one location with differing kanban qtys.
