Recent Project Highlight: Lean value stream facilitation at Eaton Corporation, several assignments with specific performance measurements defined and quantified for implementation. Implementation is yielding gains that have prevented Eaton from closing this plant.

Design and partial implementation of the Lean Roadmap at Telex Communications. (The internal team is completing implementation) Four manufacturing locations simultaneously. The implementation has an expected outcome of improved on time delivery to customers targeted at 100%, assemble to customer order, significant improvement in inventory turns.

Developing enhanced Just in Time Production System modules for Teleflex, Inc. Teleflex have developed a Just in Time architecture that is called TPS, the Teleflex Production System. The worldwide implementation of cellular manufacturing has been very successful. Teleflex required an expanded capability to the process, that takes them beyond cellular and onto JIT supplier of choice in their addressed markets.

Developed a training and facilitator production system titled the York Production System (YPS). This six-module training material is based on the Bottom Line JIT Production System ©, and has a “learn and do” architecture. The training material is part of the overall YPS training literature, and supports the business strategy to become dominate in addressed markets by the introduction of Continuous Improvement (Client: York International, York, PA).

Currently building upon early success with cellular assembly processes, by defining and implementing the remaining elements required to achieve just in time status. The assignment includes kanban, Continuous Improvement, inventory accuracy and management, profit improvement, performance measurement definition and visual factory displays. (Client: Teleflex Marine, Limerick, PA).

Development of a cellular process flow for a wire manufacturing process. The assignment, when complete, will result in a significant reduction in manufacturing lead-time, inventory, and scheduling complexity. The next planned step is the implementation of Continuous Improvement. (Client: Kalas Manufacturing, Denver, PA).

Implementation of Just In Time techniques into already established assembly cells utilizing kanban. Results in on time delivery to the customer improved from 65% to 96.5% (with lead times of less than one day requested.) Currently we are assisting the business with the implementation of their MRPII business software and techniques to make the software respond as a JIT solution for manufacturing operations. (QualiTROL, a division of Danaher Corp., Rochester, NY).

Implementation of Just In Time processes for several divisions of Teleflex, Inc., including Teleflex Marine Systems, Techsonic, and Ruesch Medical, Germany. Teleflex, Inc. has developed a Just In Time Production methodology known as the Teleflex Production System (TPS). Bottom Line Consultants, have enhanced the TPS by adding JIT Assemble to order methodology. In those divisions where Bottom Line is assigned, the performance measurements focused on are; inventory turns, kanban, and on time delivery to the customer date.
