:: Supply Chain Design ::

Objective:
To learn and understand a simple and logical lean design for material flow. Participants will learn how to design and implement manufacturing cells that function the first time. How to quickly determine what products are logical candidates, using PPQ logic, cell station balance, kanban calculations, visual cell performance measurements the team approach to design and implementation.

Lean Material Flow leaders and managers need to understand the critical building blocks required, and how easy the material flow design is when utilizing the Lean Roadmap building blocks. We will focus on those few critical elements of Lean material flow, and not the trivial many.

Agenda:
1. An Open discussion with attendees and William Carreira and or Scott Thomes. Mr. Carreira is the author of "Lean     Tools that Really Work". The discussion is open and typically includes,

a. Lean success and failures, what is Lean material Flow, what do I do next, managing cells, Kanban and suppliers for Lean success, other concerns, problems, issues

2. The primary building blocks & elements of Lean Roadmap material flow

a. The team requirement for success.
b. Make/assemble to customer order, can you do it, take the lead-time test.
c. Product/process planning families the key to supply chain planning, The PPQ.
d. The Value Stream Map, quantifying savings and cost.
e. Cell design, station balance, and conceptual layout.
f. Kanban, The free software Kanban Manager will be used to calculate kanbans
g. ATC, available to Capacity, scheduling to capacity and not material availability with high 90% on time     delivery to the customer want date (this logic is new to America, and is spreading like wildfire).
h. Customer order consolidation and shipping logic, say goodbye to storage racks.

3. Summary discussion within the group.

Each person attending will receive: “Lean Tools that Really Work" by William Carreira and each business represented will receive a copy of "Kanban Manager" Software (both items are together a $725 value)

Typical Attendee Profile: Vice-President Manufacturing, Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Distribution manager, and all Lean Leaders responsible for Lean Material Flow Design, Implementation & Improvement.

This is a 1-day learning event and registration is $975
